Six hundred and sixty height drawing and hand-written cards have been deposit to the Museum of natural sciences of Chartres in 1999. These cards contain, apart information derived from xylllth and xixth centuries books, some personal annotations of Jean-Jacques Marchand (1770 -1850), from Chartres. We deduced of these notes his corresponding system, but we also found consistent information, often with date and localisation, about fifty one Lepidoptera in Eure-et-Loir and France, which participate, cause of their antiquity and credibility, to the biogeographical knowledge of these Insects. A synthesis is done on the one hand, to precise the life and the history of the entomologist J.-J. Marchand, and the other hand, to bring the probably first Lepidoptera data for the Eure-et-Loir territory; in definitive we try to precise the fate and the present localisation of the Marchands collection, as well as the type-specimens which should belong to this collection
