An abnormal Polyommatus icarus Rott. specimen was captured near Saint-Cassiens Lake (Var department) [France] at 150 m altitude in May 1978. The specimen exhibited both male and female coloration. In July 1978 at 450 m altitude near Buis-les-Baronnies (Drome department) [France], a Plebicula escheri Hb. specimen having the same characteristics, male to the left and female to the right, was captured.
