Faunistic and taxonomic notes on Phalacropterix apiformis (Rossi, 1790) and P. restonicae (Fiumi & Govi, 2015) from Corsica, France (Lepidoptera, Psychidae, Oiketicinae)

Records of the psychid species Phalacropterix apiformis (Rossi, 1790) from Corsica, France are mapped. Information about biology and phenology is also given, as well as a description of the morphological characteristics of this species. We combine this with DNA barcoding results. P. apiformis is compared with P. restonicae, described in 2015 by Fiumi & Govi from Corsica. We conclude on the basis of this evidence that both taxa are conspecific: we propose Phalacropterix restonicae syn. nov.
