Résumé :

- The Brown-tail moth is a web-making species. The winter nest built by the larvae is its most typical feature. It can be used to predict the population level in an oak forest. The variations in morphology, internal structure and density of spinning of this nest are described. The great variability of the structure and spinning confirms the behavioural plasticity of this pest for the construction of the winter nest. Two different densities of spinning were observed which might indicate different states of population dynamics in an oak forest
