A new species of the genus Coleophora Huebner is described: C. retrodentella Baldizzone & Nel, sp. n. from French and Italian Alps; Caryophyllaceae of the genus Minuartia Linne are the host-plants. This new species is compared with a neighbouring species C. dentiferella Toll, 1952
