Résumé :

This paper presents a preliminary inventory of the butterfly fauna of the Alpilles (Bouches-du-Rhone, France), conducted from September 2008 to November 2010. This small isolated massif, near Camargue, is deemed to be poor, but it contains at least 80 species of Rhopalocera and Zygenidae. The habitat diversity and the floristic richness offered in the Alpilles could ensure the sustainability of all present species. But this would require that the awareness of the importance of habitat conservation reaches to stop the destruction of natural spaces engendered by the development of human activities
