Résumé :

In some well-defined localities of Southern Alps, hybrids between P. apollo and P. phoebus were repeatedly observed with a noticeable frequency. This phenomenon was studied by both field observations and laboratory breeding. Uni- and multidimenstional biometrical analysis allows to recognize the hybrids with accuracy. It shows that hybrids rank is not limited to F1 and that backcrosses also occur, which is confirmed by breeding experiments. Without fundamentally questioning species mixiological criteria, these results show that genic introgression between sympatric, well distinct though related species, is possible
