Denisia fuscicapitella spec, nova is described from the French and Italian Alps. The new species is compared with its close relatives, viz. D. similella (HÜBNER 1796) and Denisia stipella (LINNAEUS 1758). Main differences are found in the wing markings, colour of the head and antennae and in the female genitalia.
