Résumé :

In the Eastern section of the Pyrenees, M. lachesis appears to vary independently from M. galathea. Intermediate forms are only found in areas where the two taxa are in contact, but are always present in these areas. They must therefore be hybrids. However, where populations of the two Melanargia species fly together the hybrids represent only about one fifth of the whole mixed population. Moreover, no introgression is to noticed between the two taxa in contact : absolutely no genes are exchanges apart from the production of a few intermediate forms. It would seem therefore that there is a separation at species level, although the two taxa only show imperfect prezygotic isolation.
